Happy New Year 2024

Wishing you a Happy, Healthy and Loving New Year. With all My Best Wishes for An Amazing 2024.

Where have the last 12 months disappeared to? It really doesn’t seem a moment since I was writing my Blog at the start of last year but I can honestly say it’s been an amazing 12 months as I look back – wonderful events, some new and some familiar, new stockists and outlets in addition to continued support from my original galleries and shops, lots of new workshop bookings and second or third visits from those of you that have become as addicted as myself! I really want to give a huge, heartfelt thank you for following my progress and supporting my business throughout the year. Whether you have been with me from the beginning or have just recently discovered my fused glass goodies, I’d like to wish you all a very Happy New Year with all my big hugs for a wonderful 2024.

New Year is traditionally a time to take stock and make changes. The World continues to be an incredibly tough place at the moment with so many challenges and situations facing everyone. I realise I am so lucky to be able to work as I do and meet so many wonderful people – here’s to meeting so many more of you in 2024 xx

Packaging Update

This time last year I was determined to investigate sourcing eco packaging for my glass pieces and I’m delighted to let you know that I am now using 100% biodegradable bubble plastic to wrap and protect my glass pieces both for postage items and purchases at Shows. This eco-friendly packaging is made from recycled elements and is fully recyclable. I feel so much happier knowing I am able to do just a little bit to help the environment.

Workshops for 2024

I absolutely love being able to offer workshops and seeing your finished creations is just amazing. For those of you who fancy working on a project that may take longer than a single workshop session I am able to offer a ‘Come and Come Again’ session which gives you the flexibility to book in when it suits you and continue a project over several sessions. I will keep your piece safe for your next visit or even fire the piece ready to add to next time depending on your design. Prices are worked out according to size, glass elements used and number of firings required. Working this way is very relaxed and a chance to work completely at your own pace, perhaps on a bigger project. If you fancy working on your own project in this way please contact me and we can have a chat.

New Designs…

I have been developing some new designs for this year and can’t wait to show you my new Garden Stake very soon. Working in collaboration, my very talented friend, Lucille creates the metal work and I create the glass. I am hoping this new design will complement the fish, birds and alliums I currently create and bring a touch of colour to a garden pot or corner. Watch this space …

Unique Handmade Glass Art
Stockists

Unfortunately, I am really sad to have to let you know that The Wonky Wheel in Finchingfield has closed it’s doors for the time being as a physical shop. You can still find a selection of wonderful handmade pieces for sale on their website and they will be hosting a number of exhibitions and ‘Pop Up’ events at various locations in Suffolk and Essex throughout the year until a new shop can be found xx

I would like to wish Mary, the owner of The Wonky Wheel, much love and best wishes. I absolutely love being a part of the ‘Wonky Wheel’ family and will be at their pop up events this year xx Check out their website at www.wonky-wheel.co.uk

Looking for a lovely place to stay?

Just wanted to let you know about a really lovely place if you fancy a short break over the next few months.
We spent a 3 night break here at the beginning of December and thoroughly enjoyed the walking, wonderful food, really friendly atmosphere and local places to visit.
The Ship at Dunwich is a minutes walk from the sea, an old smuggler’s Inn with cosy rooms, a warming real fire, scrumptious food and dog friendly too. Near to the Dunwich Heath nature reserve and lovely Suffolk villages we found it the perfect spot for a mini break and will be putting it on our list of places we’d like to return to soon.

News From The Studio Hound

Hugo has discovered Christmas Dinner!

Many of you know Hugo has now reached the grand old age of 14 and although he still behaves much as a puppy would, he has got a little more fussy with his food. We have treated him to a Butternut Box selection and I have to say, he absolutely loves it!

He has one pouch of the cooked fresh food over 3 days mixed in with his biscuits and clears the bowl every time. Pouches arrive frozen and you can order as often or as little as you like. I know there are lots of fresh dog food companies out there and we have only ever tried this one but I can honestly say it’s made his mealtimes so enjoyable. His tail is extra waggy on Butternut days!

Makes of the Month

I absolutely love seeing what you make in the workshop sessions xx Sharing ideas and creating designs is just so inspiring for me too and the makes, this month again, demonstrate how absolutely amazing you all are…

Bookings for January and February are filling up so if you have an occasion or date in mind, please give me a call or email to book in and receive all the information needed.

Latest workshop makes include these lovely glassy goodies…

Events this Month

January is traditionally a very quiet month for events but behind the scenes, lots of work is going into booking shows, exhibitions and markets later in the year. I am really excited to be applying for some old favourites and some totally new events and will keep you up to date with where you can find me in person as soon as I receive confirmation.

All the events I will be attending are also listed on my website on the ‘Events’ page.

Please do contact me if you require any information or details for workshop bookings, to buy direct or to find out about commissions.

Happy January and I’ll look forward to chatting again next month,

Veronica xx
